ME + Basic Invite Present: I Graduated with 2 People and I Wasn't Even Valedictorian.
It’s crazy to think I graduated almost 14 years ago. High School seems like such a lifetime ago, but with the season of young people graduating upon us, I thought I’d reminisce about my ridiculous high school years and (I’m sure) one of the tiniest graduations on record. Even out of 3 total people, as you may have guessed from the title of this article, I did not place first in my class. I mean, just look at my senior photo below.
I’d like to believe this wasn’t completely intelligence-related, but more so a rebellious act. My priorities in this tiny, private school were focused more on skateboarding and writing music rather than on math and writing papers on past men I didn’t care about. I lived for the end of the day and weekends, so needless to say, I looked wholeheartedly towards graduating.
Having said all of that, I crammed harder than ever for end of the year testing and somehow passed. Somewhere my mother has a picture of me asleep atop 3 or 4 books where my face is buried in the binding of the top one.
My graduation day is something of a blur. When looking back at photos from that day, it looks like it was a blur then too. Before you ask, no, I wasn’t on drugs.
You may be asking at this point: what in the hell is the point of this article? WELL, since you asked, I don’t really have one. BUT…
