Interviewing Skateboarding Filmer and Creator of the Texalona Series, Jordan Standley
I met Jordan for the first time not too long ago, even though we had lived in the same area of North Texas growing up. I heard his name a million times in the past, but only got to meet and converse with him just a few years ago. He’s a fascinating character who has put out several full length skateboarding videos and has traveled all over the world.
This article originally came out right after we met, but as fate would have it, I lost my website at the time and all of the information that went along with it. Luckily, this interview was saved deep in the bowels of Gmail from our original email correspondence. I’m happy to re-post and expand upon our original collaboration together and present to you my interview with Jordan Standley, creator of the amazing skateboarding video series, Texalona.
What originally got you into skateboarding?
Was skateboarding your motive behind
getting into film?
How did the Texalona series come about?
For people out there that want to film their own full length skate video and have a video premiere, what advice would you have for them?
Do you have any projects you're
currently working on?
Jordan is such an interesting person and has an almost ‘larger than life’ quality to him. I was so glad we were able to recover this interview because it was probably the most in-depth I’ve had a interviewee go into their work process and experience. I can’t wait to see where Jordan goes from here. Wherever it is, I know it’s only up. If you’d like to follow and support him and his projects, check out the links below.
